Al Quran (Tafsir & by Word) is its flagship Quran product, designed to help Muslims move beyond simply reading the Quran towards understanding, studying and engaging with it more deeply.

The Problem
For Muslims wanting to understand the Quran more deeply, the digital experience was often fragmented. Translation, tafsir, word-by-word meaning, Arabic analysis and recitation frequently meant moving between different books, websites and applications.
Many Islamic apps were also clunky, advertising-heavy and designed around functionality rather than the user experience. We saw an opportunity to create something that made deeper Quran study easier without making the technology itself feel like a barrier.
The Solution
We took a user-centred approach to designing and building Al Quran, bringing reading, understanding and reflection together within one friction-free experience.
We combined word-by-word meanings, grammar, translations, tafsir, recitation, tajweed support, search, bookmarks, notes and other study tools into a single product, while designing every interaction to feel simple and natural.
The aim was for using the app to feel as comfortable and intuitive as picking up a Mushaf, while giving users access to the depth and functionality of a modern digital Quran platform. We also built the experience to support a global, multilingual audience from the outset.
